You really have a lovely talent for seeing interesting things and then being able to frame them well, etc.
I studied film and photography at school and university and although I could get the mechanics pretty right I haven't been able to master the artistic side of things.
But if you ever need your DVD, Stereo, TV, etc. all connected together I can normally do that in a jiffy! Good to see my learning hasn't been a complete waste!
I like the last one the best: it tells a story.
Do you know any good resources that explain what the lenses do? I have a DSLR with the stock lens and have been thinking about getting something with decent zoom. But what does it all mean?

Matt, the best thing that helped me was borrowing a book called Canon Lens Work, ( or was it lens kraft?) which show sample shots of all their lenses and explains their purposes. Before that I didn't have a clue, so I know how you feel. Then I just scanned the internet for lens reviews and forums. Before long I was able to understand what lenses did what and what all the different focal lengths were doing.
